Hawk Family

Every year this red-tailed hawk makes his (I guess it would be a her?) home on the ledge of our office building. I wish I could take credit for these amazing pictures, but it is quite obvious that a professional took these pictures. Every year the hawk nests here and has her babies. (and makes quite the mess in the parkinglot and on our cars). Hope you enjoy these pictures as much as I did!

Not So Sweet Potatoes

We thought we would try some solid foods today. I thought sweet potatoes would be a nice start because they are sweet - right? It is in the title, it has to be... I even tasted it. It was pretty good! Jacob really did not think so! I think we will try rice cereal tomorrow.

If you see a solid black box on any of the slides, just click the "x" in the upper right hand corner.

Jacob turned 5 months old today!
I can't believe my boy is 5 months old!
He is so big now. He is 16lbs and at his 4 month Dr. appointment, he was 26.5 inches long. He is in the 90th percentile for height and 55th percentle for his weight.
We have not tried any solid food yet, but Auntie Cara gave us some organic brown rice to try when we are ready. Maybe another month.
Jacob is trying to crawl. He has not been successful (other than the laps he makes around his crib), but he is really trying.
He loves to play with anything that is not his toy. He has a bright orange DelTaco cup that he loves and has moved from the little water bottles to the gallon jugs with handles.
We bought him a new chair so that he could sit in the tub like a big boy... Well, he is not so sure he wants to take a bath like a big boy yet - you can check out those pictures below.

Jacob's First Bath in his Big-Boy Chair

You can see the progression. He did eventually enjoy the bath, but not for long. He just wants to stay mommy's little baby : )!
This is Jacob trying very hard to crawl. Little bit of rug-burn to the face never hurt anyone - right?

Jacob has a blast in his "Playstation 2"

He really likes the dumb bus on this thing. It is so loud and makes the scariest sounds. I don't know why it does not scare him - scares me!

The spinning wheel is his very favorite. If you spin it, he can not stand it! He has to stop it and spin it himself.

Here is Jacob just waking up from his nap. He is such a little angel when he wakes up. Look at this sweet face!

We used to hid at the top of the crib and he did not know we were there. He has got us figured out now though.

He wants to be so independent.
Jacob looks so relaxed. He places his hads behind his head like aaahhh - this is the life.

Beckelhimer Look-alike Meter

MyHeritage: Family tree - Genealogy - Celebrity - Collage - Morph

OK - not buying it! I tried several pictures on this thing. Most of them said 50 / 50. One time I got 13% more like mommy, but that was only because the picture of billy was sideways. I think Jacob is a little mini-daddy... What do you think?

Does this look like nap time to you?

I just placed Jacob in his crib for nap time. Does this look like he is ready for a nap? How could he be. His new friends (his toes) would like to play and just won't leave him alone! It is really not his fault.

Play Station Three!

You have all seen the pictures of Jacob's "Playstation I" and his new "Playstation II"...
Daddy thinks he might be ready for the Playstation III?!?!?

Billy has a PS3 with a racing seat. The seat is very fun I must admit (even though it is right in the middle of my family room!! Billy really enjoys it so, I guess it can stay.

Do you think Jacob appreciates the life-like feedback in the steering wheel? Looks like he does anyway!

Jacob was quite interested in the wheel. He turned it from side to side. I think this is an early sign that he is going to be a car maniac like his Daddy (and perhaps Mommy). It must be in his blood.

Look at the concentration!

You can't get very far in first gear!

That's it - get a good grip!

I think he has a bit of growing to do. Maybe he can pay the cat off in treats to push the gas for him!
