Lego Fun!

We have a blast at Legoland. We are there about once a

week. We have never played in the water though... I guess

we will have to do that every time now! He drew the biggest

crowd with his high pitched squeals. I don't know how the kid

hits that pitch! Everyone was laughing at him chasing the water,

and how furious he got when the water went down. He loves the

train, you can see him chugging with his little hands and he

learned to say choo choo today - I (of course) caught that

on camera too!

What could possibly make driving a BMW more fun?!?

Chopping the top and adding a twin turbo!!!!
Oh yeah!
It finally happened. Billy sold his bike. We also sold the Land Rover the same week. We have done a good job of being sensible for quite some time now, but with the loss of the very last fun toy we had, we knew it had to be replaced with something exciting. We still have the Mazda as my official "Mom-Mobile", but this car will work out great when we don't have a lot to pick up - or a lot to pack. Jacob is afraid to be in the car when the top is being put up but thinks it is really exciting when the top is being lowerd. We have not taken him for an open air ride yet - that may not be for a while. He does not really care what car he is in as long as the DVD player is playing YoGabbaGabba.

Jacob is 16 Months Old!

16 months old! Really? I can't believe how fast it goes.
Jacob is quite the handful! Of course I would not change a second of it.

Jacob is running and climbing on everything. Unfortunately he has not learned the concept of heights and has no fear of the edge. This has led to a few bumps on the noggin.
Says Mama, Dada, Pup Pup (for puppy), Wa wa (for waffle), NO!, ish (for fish - specifically the Legoland Aquarium pictured above), Bob, up, and bye bye, do (for juice) and ja (for his best friend Jack). The other day I said "I don't know" and he repeated it as clear as day. Really! He did it one more time, but has not done it since - of course.
30 1/2 inches and 23 lbs
He loves to help around the house by throwing his own diaper away, putting his bottles in the sink, wiping his highchair tray and bringing you just about whatever you ask for.
If he finds an article of clothing in his room that he likes, he will bring it to you and lay down so that you will change him. Great - picky about what he wears already.
He is getting picky about what he eats - if any moms have any suggestions, I would love to hear them!

A Visit from MawMaw and PawPaw

Jacob and I were back home in November, but MawMaw and PawPaw could not wait any longer. They decided to take that 66 hour train ride to California to see their grandson again. The last time they were here was when Jacob was born. We only left the house 3 times in 3 weeks. I was so happy that they were going to get to see the sights and experience San Diego this time. We kept quite busy as you can tell by the pictures. I think everyone had a really good time - I know I did... My favorite part... having homemade dessert in the house for 2 weeks. Unfortunately my jeans are fitting a little snug now, but it is a small price to pay!

Happy Easter!

The Easter Bunny visited the Beckelhimer home a few days early this year so that MawMaw and PawPaw could enjoy the basket with Jacob before they headed back home to West Virginia. I think the bunny may have gone a bit overboard this year, but he thought everything should be extra special for Jacob's first real Easter. His basket was filled with a lot of fun toys, cars, bubbles, dvds, books and his favorite... Trader Joes Organic Suckers! Jacob did not waste any time jumping right in. Below are a few pictures - hope you enjoy!

The Beach!

Jacob had seen the beach before. He was about 4 months

old when I dipped his toes in the water. One year later

we are back for a longer visit. We took MawMaw and

PawPaw. Jacob had a lot of fun!

Hanging out at home.

Though the running around was certainly fun for all...

sometimes just hanging out at home was all the

excitement we needed.

Carlsbad Flower Fields

I have wanted to visit the flower fields for years, but

Billy has pretty bad allergies, so we have never been.

He is happy to enjoy them from the freeway! So...

Jacob and I took MawMaw and PawPaw and we all

had a good time. Jacob enjoyed the tractor ride. He

thought it was a train and did his choochoo move with

his little hands - so cute!

San Diego Zoo and Wild Animal Park

We visited the SD Zoo and Wild Animal Park. Ruth was

excited to see Baby Frankie (the new gorilla at the zoo).

Jacob was excited to see... everything. He really liked

ducks. He chased those poor things all over the park.

One of them actually chased back!
